I have to say, I was a little weary returning to Nelson, but was excited to try out Desi Donair. I am a succer for poutine obviously and was glad to see there was a Shawarma option. The man in charge actually helped me decide to get the larger portion which I am totally satisfied with. Great hot sauce option as well very delicious. As a man who is largely mute as well as barefoot is so nice to feel welcome on the patio or inside. I chose to sit in both areas and it was so nice to sit and listen to people talking who I didn't understand and just let my mind relax. I may ask or recommend since I want to try the garlic sauce now. This poutine. It is great the way it is, but for me, I would like to try to hit it up a notch.

I’ve driven past a lot of times but finally stopped in today. The service was fantastic , super friendly and attentive. The food was delicious! I have the soy desi wrap and it was super tasty and such big portion sizes! I was stuffed! Highly recommend if you haven’t visited yet :)

I have been waiting years for a shawarma place to open in Nelson. Until now I had to drive 4+ hours for quality shawarma!!!!!!! Had the classic beef shawarma and it RULED!!! There are alot of boring restaurants in Nelson and this is not one of them. All the ingredients were very fresh and beef had lots of flavor. I will definitely be back to try more options. Thank you Desi Donair!!!!

We really enjoyed the food and service at Desi Donair! The food is absolutely delicious and the staff were really nice. The garlic sauce is SO good. They have 2 kinds of falafel and the spicy one was incredible. They do deliver and I think they will deliver to 6 mile as long as you place a reasonable order (more than 1 item would be kind for such a distance). We'll be back for sure :)

Food was amazing, got it delivered and delivery was free and very timely! Definitely will be checking out the actual restaurant soon. I ordered the donair and my girlfriend got the shawarma and it was so good that I think I'm going to dream about the taste and she is afraid she will only want to eat this for the rest of her life.

Absolutely delicious!! You can smell the tastiness as soon as you walk in :) I had the desi falafel pita and my partner had the desi chicken shawarma. The flavours and sauces ware on point. So savoury with the perfect amount of spice, and the portion size is big! The side of garlic fries were delicious. Super friendly staff too. We will be back again! Lots of parking is a bonus!

Our dinner from Desi Donair was so delicious and the service was very kind and welcoming. The garlic sauce was especially amazing. We will be back again! My only suggestion would be to play some music inside:)

Going out for dinner these days is almost impossible with the cost of everything going up. However, the food at Desi Donair is affordable for people who are on a budget. The price for a poutine is $10 with the most expensive meal being $21. The food was cooked perfectly and had amazing flavour. I ordered the chicken shawarma, with a side of house salad and Greek dressing. My partner got the Desi donair with lamb and added tzatziki sauce, and a side of fries. I’m not a lamb fan. However, after trying the Desi donair I will eat lamb when dining here. Portion size was filling, both my partner and I almost couldn’t finish our meal. Although the parking lot is not ideal, it is worth dining in for lunch or dinner. They have amazing service, but we also had the restaurant to ourselves. I’ve seen this place packed during other times, and heard that it was highly recommended. Now I understand why. If you haven’t been to Desi Donair I highly recommend you stop in sometime or order online. Worth it!
